This is a blog page for our Antarctic field team, B509M.  B509M is the science event number assigned to us by the US Antarctic Program.  B509M is our call sign when we radio back in from the field, it’s how we identify ourselves as a science team.  We work as part of the McMurdo Dry Valleys Long-Term Ecological Research (MCM-LTER) program. Geochemistry is the tool that we use to study the ecosystem, how things move through the system over time.  We work on glaciers, streams, lakes and soils and we put in many hours analyzing samples in the lab.
